    videos goes green

Whenever I play a video on my desktop, the screen starts going green from the left moving over to cover the screen, then it takes ages to get it to stop,so you can close the screen. It doenst matter what type of player it is(I have windoze, gom, real player and videolan).
It has only recently started doing this, and it is really giving me the sXXXs.
Can anyone point me in the right direction,so that I can view my vid's again.
    TIA.,

Is it only happening when you play videos?

Does it happen when you watch videos on the net?

It could be a graphics card issue or if your PC dosent have a Graphics Card it could be something with the Motherboard..

    re:

Try updating your driver for your video card. Depending on whether its an onboard or PCI-e/AGP, you may need to find the model of the card. If you have a brand name PC, you can just do a search at the pc manufacturer's website and they should have it there. If you don't know the model and you have a whitebox pc, then you MAY need to look at the card or at the video chipset on board - not something I recommend unless you have a reasonable knowledge of hardware.

This maybe a bit of one from left of field, but pull the monitor plug out and make sure that all the pins are straight. It could be that of the pins are bent out and when you run a video, that pin could be part of the problem - I doubt it very much but good to check everything to be sure.

    Cheers,
    -A.

    Try plugging in another screen.

If it does green things then it's your MB / Vid card / Screen driver.

If it looks good - it's the screen.

Seems strange that it doesn't play up on other things like Word or whatever, just videos. Wouldn't think the refresh rate or anything like that would change for vids.....

I would have said the video plug isnt in properly if it was all the time not just when playing video.

Is the colour across your whole screen or just the part displaying video?
If its the whole screen I would say your vid car or monitor is stuffed.
If its just the part playing the video you have the wrong resolution for you monitor, or maybe the codes need re-installing?

    Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Its only on the vid screen.

On some vids it plays,on others it goes green.

I think its something to do with the codecs(or lack of).

    cheers
