    Screen resolution

OK ... What am I doing wrong

    Have bought a Toshiba 40" 1980 x 1080 60hz LCD TV monitor
    with HDMI input socket

Have bought Radeon 4850 graphics card with 1gig ram and HDMI output socket
Have installed the video card in my Intel Duocore Pentium computer using XP

and hooked up Computer to the monitor via a HDMI cable

The best I can get from this setup is a pixel setting of 1360 x 768 ... If I set it to 1920 x 1080 ... It's all "washed out" looking

Whats going on ... Why can't I get the resolutions to the 1980 setting and get a clear picture??

And another Q is .... where can I get a DVD decoder from?? (I can't play a DVD /// Message says no DVD decoder installed / and yes I do have a DVD combo burner player) ... All the sites I looked at were very, SUS, to say the least

Have you installed the Radeon drivers onto you PC??

Give me a tingle if you want. Got football tomorrow.... well .... actually... lunch in the Bill Walker room pre game with Fremantle FC and then the game but can probably drop in on my way home from work Monday or so.

With the DVD decoder, what are you trying to play it thru, Mediaplayer, Nero etc etc.

There are a few around but Mediaplayer 11 should play it straight up....

Video player sorted .... Found a Freeware version called KMPLAYER ... Man ... They have a whole "Active Forum" on this subject of player .. Just as big as this forum

Yea .... even downloaded the updated drivers for it off the ATI Radeon website ...

I'm just either missing the point ... or have incompatible hardware
    Don't know how tho ...

Mmmm ... Found "The Point" .... Went to Toshiba web site .... It's advertised as a 1980 x 1080 LCD ... but it states the specs for HDMI mode, 1360 x 768 ... What the .....

So my Q would now be .... How can it be advertised as a FULL HD 1080 .... But have a max resolution of 1360 x 768 in HDMI????

Not on the Freo side. Its the main bar/function room at ground level dedicated to him at Subi Oval.

Oh, and while on the subject, to all Essendon supporters, serves you right for the smart ass banner at the start of the game!

Mexicans comin' over here thinkin' they better than us......

    We showed em.....

Why couldnt we do it for the other 21 games prior.....

Your welcome to try it on my Sony Bravia if you want. Simones puta is HD ready but havent plugged it in yet to try it.

I went back and hooked up to about 6 other models .... Bought a Samsung, as it had the best potential ... works good, but can improve on the resolution ... Starting to think about cable quality's??

So not many folks running their computers for home cinemas & utilising the HDMI setups on their video cards out there???

    Getting there
