If you're wanting a Windows mobile device, then have a look at HTC. Perhaps a Touch Diamond would suit her. If she wants a bigger screen for internet browsing then the HTC Touch Pro2.

Pretty much all of HTC's phones have 3G/next G, GPS, wi-fi, bluetooth etc.

I have had an HTC P3600 for the past two and a half years with no problems. Only replaced the battery last week because it started to lose charge too quickly.

Try the search on GSM Arena -
GSMArena.com - GSM phone reviews, news, opinions, votes, manuals and more...

It's a phone site, but you can search for a list of features, including all of yours.

I think the simple answer is just buy an iphone.

If you want NextG you'll need an 850MHz iPhone, i.e., Telstra (and maybe 3 who roam to the NextG network in some areas).

Most carriers in Oz use 2100MHz so their iPhones may not be 850MHz compatible.

I think the ones you buy directly from Apple are 850/2100MHz

    Here we are:

    Cellular and wireless

    • UMTS/HSDPA (850, 1900, 2100 MHz)
    • GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
    • Wi-Fi (802.11b/g)
    • Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
I note it uses Assisted GPS. Does this mean it downloads maps on the fly and costs money to use?

    iPhone GPS follow up

    Hello,

I have a new iPhone 3Gs and it's an impressive device except for the GPS. You don't need service to use the GPS as long as you have a GPS program installed. I use the $79 one from the App Store. However, the GPS drains the battery really quickly and if there is no service then it has to rely only on its puny internal aerial. Getting a fix takes forever and it seems to drop satellites frequently.

In short, it works well enough in major cities where assistance from mobile towers is available. Off the beaten track it still works but becomes a bit flaky.

Otherwise, I think the phone is fantastic

    Mike

PS My previous 2 phones have been windows PDA phone's (HP iPaq & ETen X800) and the iPhone is so much better than them
