For what it's worth, I have a mate who has been an IT guy for yonks and using the release candidate of Win7 for a few months. He just can't stop banging on about it. When I told him my plans of waiting until the new year before considering an upgrade from Vista 64 he just said flat out "don't wait". The way he explains it is more that Win7 is like Vista SP3 (or 4 or 5). You should just "get it" as a necessary upgrade, not a discretionary one. As for MS charging $199 for it, well that's just robbery given what it's replacing (fixing). Surely a $29 upgrade for Vista users would go a fair way to erasing some of the hangover and restore customer sentiment.
