Auto Gear Box and Transfer Case breather locations - What is this part?

Thanks mike, will got onto that. Can I just leave the wading plug in all the time or is there a problem with doing that?

I would make a HABIT of taking the plug out and leaving the drain hole open ... as you will Forget that you put it in there in the first place

As it acts as a vent , plus oil exit ..... I only use "off the tarmack" ...

So all personal choices .. but the main point is when offroad ... have those holes blocked .... or your seals to the Auto will be chewed out with sand or mud that gets forced up there when "playing hard" ....
