if its an LT77 box odds are that the grub screw that holds the shift cup that the gear shift sits into has come out and the cup has seperated from the rod.

you can get to the top of the box via the top without dropping it to sort this mess out.

r380/lt85 the selector has jumped position and just needs to be reset.

if its not that, good luck to you.

I belive all 300tdis came with R380s. Just in case LT77 has reverse up and to the left whereas R380 reverse is down on the right below 5th.

I changed the plate and the springs last december, adjusting them as they worked fine.
10k km later i was positioning the rooftent as horizontally as possible between trees, and the gear lever seemed to fall a little bit to the 2nd, 4th and reverse side, causing difficult to shift the lever horizontally. When I pick it up a little bit, it works as usually.
Can be this a plate problem again? Or may be a broken plastic selector yoke?

    Thank you in advance
    Regards

    normally yes....

but I got me a curve ball not too long ago.

    someone purchased a disco with a tdi300...

it was repowered from the tdi200 to 300. Very neatly done, I didnt even think about it till I tried to grab reverse.
