Dave,
Any good quality 15w40 mineral based oil like Castrol GTX2 etc will be fine, takes 6.5 litres with filter change. Ryco Z89a oil filter, (I use only genuine and really not much different in price to Ryco etc really...) Genuine filter part number is ERR3340. The leads, well try magnecor as they have a good rep, but costly. You only get what you pay for. DO NOT fit an aftermarket dissy cap and rotor, genuine Lucas only. Pretty pricey so carefully inspect the old ones, you'd be surprised how long they will last actually
Ryco fuel filter number is Z479. These are pretty easy to change, they are in the RHR wheel well, front attached to chassis on a bracket forward of the top shock mounting. You'll need 21mm and a 16mm (13/16" and 5/8" in the old money
) spanners to undo filter connections, and a 13mm ratchet and open ender to remove filter from bracket. Make sure you depressurise the fuel system first by removing the fuel pump fuse in engine compartment fuse box while engine is running. When it stops, system is just about out of pressure. Still exercise caution when undoing connections though.
Spark plugs. NGK BP5ES OR BP6ES are preferred, champion do not run well in the Rover V8. Bosch and Nippondenso plugs are OK too. Air filter genuine number is ESR1445, not sure what aftermarket numbers are. Genuine aren't all that pricey and at least you know they fit in the airbox properly...
Have fun bonding with your Landy
