Mines doing the same - appears the PAS pump pulley has drifted forward. No significant axial or radial freeplay, but I intend replacing the pump.
Just ended up changing over my serpitine belt due to the older one not sitting properly on the altinator pully and stripping the belt. Now when the truck runs cold I think the belt is sqeaking until it get close to operating temp then its all quite until the car cools down again.. Changed the tensioner pully about a year ago so could that be the prob??? when at idle or when given some throttle the tension pulley hardly moves. No movment at idle. Dont want to buy another tension pulley for no reason.

Had the same problem when cold it would squeak till getting to temp.Tried everything belt slip, put a 5cent coin behind tension pulley cause I heard they dont run true. Also put in a new water pump not long ago.
So I pulled the belt off turned it around and put back on squeak gorn.I must have put the belt on the wrong way when I replaced the water pump.Didnt relise these belts were directional.

Just went through the same on Dad's D1. Was a combo of water pump failing (bearing collapse) and tensioner bearing running lose on the shaft.
To fix the tensioner, he cut a shim out of coke can, just big enough to wrap around the shaft to take up the slack, and pushed the bearing snugly back over the top.
Thanks guys. Just changed the water pump about a month ago. But will check this directional thing with the belt. Changed the tensioner pully about 9 months to a year ago when I first got the truck. I'll do this belt change and see how that goes if no good I'll change the tension pulley. Thing is I hardly got any jumping around with the tension pulley and it seems fine but will suss it out.
Ok well I changed the belt around this morning and all seems fine now, there's no noise coming from either the belt of pulleys. See how it goes the next couple of days. Thanks guys.
just an update..
the noise has come back and i'm now thinking of changing the tension pulley again. Can the actual belt be making the noise as its new?? other belts i have changed seemed not so stiff as the one i just put on. i am getting another belt for spares and will put that one on and see what happens.
Have you tried talcum powder on the belt?
It stops mine squealing for a few weeks.
EDIT: The easiest way to tell if the belt is the cause of the noise is to spray a little bit of water on it. On mine, the water stops the squeal until it dries out. Then more talcum powder stops it again.
