    my folks have a 96 tdi and it runs like a dream they got it 4 years ago. it has done 350 thou and runs better than my 96 v8i and has cost less in repairs and parts than mine. looking back at things i should have got the tdi. but i still love mine. in my opinion if you can get one at the right price and you are willing to treat it well they are a good investment. but like any thing if you arent going to take care of it (repairs and services and so on) go get a 500 dollar throw away. if you get one be sure to keep an eye on the water and oil situation other than that there shouldnt really be an issue

    my 95 tdi has 380 thou on it and it runs good. starts easy no exsesive smoke and has the injecter pump turnd up abit.

    as a new member to this forum and a first time l/r owner i have a series 11 with 140ks on the clock.now all the advice on what to do ?i have had radiator
    serviced and used ultra flush coolant.car is booked in to have bolt replaced on oil pump pulley.i intend to trip around aus in may .?is how far do i go when i see series 1 discos with over 500ks still going strong
