Marks Adaptors do Rover v8 manual box and auto box adaptors. If the bellhousing patterns are the same they will fit but AFAIK the engine mount adaptors will be different.

Bellhousing on the tdi is different, ideally a V8 box is better suited, for ease of adapting

I think if you take an injected engine out of a car, to do it legally you have to replace with another injected engine. Something to keep in mind when costing the project.

i'm thinking about doing the same to my d1 mark's adapters is the only place i have found that do anything, ur looking any where up to $8500 plus motor and labour if u don't do it your self, then there is the question can a land rover box take the extra power. another option which i'm looking at is Triumph Rover Spares - The World's Largest Land Rover Dismantler getting them to build me a combination motor and box, i haven't spoken to them so i don't know how much it would cost but i'm tipping it will be cheaper and much easier.

I have a D1 with a 6.5 litre V8 diesel - I had it fitted by Brunswick Diesels here in WA. As far as I know mine is the only Diso they have done.

Hi Vern
I have only had one (brief) overheating issue, when we were chewing through quite soft sand in Shark Bay - the ambient temp must have been high 30's. Otherwise the temp guage needle never moves from the middle.
I don't use Jimmy much these days - I have just bought a new 3.0 SE D4. It makes the 6.5 feel anaemic!
Cheers
Al
