Thats a strange observation, I call it that as I have had both and spoken to people with both and all have confirmed my observation and record keeping on fuel consumption that a manual is more economical.

An auto be better off road in many circumstances, I agree there.

Still like my manual for now though.

Nil as in not enough to effect buying one over the other, we did an economy run in our club and there was less than .5ltr/100 difference between identical vehicles 1 manual and my auto, best figure was a manual TD5 disco.
