One easy way is to disconnect the driver's door interior light switch. Fit a line switch into the wire to the switch in the door pillar and you can have it off or on.

When I got my car the interior light was disconnected. I fished it out and hooked it up then understood why. I used the proceedure by Fish and worked a charm. I've passed it on to a few other frustrated members too. Very easy, give it a go.
    Cheers, David.

i left the drivers wire off but ran a wire from the drivers side passenger door switch up to the drivers door switch so the lights work as normal but no chime.

When you cut the wire as mentioned in Fish's post, does that stop the headlights still on chime? This chime has saved me from having a dead starter a few times and I would not want to lose that one.

I'm pretty sure my headlight chime still works.

I cut the wire as described in Fish's thread. The head light chime still works fine. My life has changed for the better after I snipped that little wire.
