yes I intend to take a couple of pictures and put them up. The bends aren't that bad but you can see when the stand up end on end that they are bent.
By the way your D1 is a trick bit of gear, I remember looking at pics of it when it was forsale.

The 180 refers to 180Lbs per inch compression as does the 220.
Say the back weighs 1800Lbs then the 180Lb springs will compress (1800divided by 360) 5 inches while 220Lb springs will compress only 4 inches. ie for the same lift the heavier springs could be 20MM (1 inch) shorter in free length.

The only problem is with the new supposedly heavier springs the arse is about 2 to 3 inches lower then the front now.
So that is a problem to say the least as it looks like one of those stupid Jap utes that drags its arse on the ground that the young kiddies like so much.

LRA springs are crap... the sets ive had have saged and one set dropped a coil. richmonds response was ''yeah we had a bad batch'' i bought them from LRA direct, coopers wouldnt take them back.
you can get an idea of the spring rate by working out the OD of the coil, the number of active coils and the wire dia.

if the 220lb springs were 400-440mm free height (not installed height) then yes they would have been close to 50mm lift.
discos work well with 180-200lb front and 220-250lb rear.

this whole thing with the springs is a pain in the butt. I must admit I'm not 100% sure which way to go to get this issue resolved. I guess sending the old springs back to Coopers is a start as they say chances are they would have the right ones in stock.
But I guess this means unless I find an alternative that gets rid of the sag and still gives the D1 good off and on road manners then even with a new set of springs fitted I still won't be towing the off road camper with the D1 again.
Out of interest Phil, what brand of springs would you use if you were choosing replacement ones?

I have fitted Polyairs in mine to tow my Camp'o'matic and am quite happy, although I recognise that they reduce articulation. I run them with very little PSI and they act as an extra progressive spring .Quote:

If you primarily do mountain tracks then you may not like them but I now use mine for touring and they are good.
Funny, I fitted mine without the spacer for a 2 inch lift and they are perfect length, just touching unladen. I do not believe they should be the primary spring medium as appears to be the case if you fit the spacer.

PS measure that the springs are the correct free length as per the printed spec. I bought some Green springs from GC and they were 10MM longer than my standard rear green stripes ( therefore 20MM too long). It took a week or so of arguing before LRA accepted that the spring maker had put the wrong stripe on, during which time they tried to baffle me with bull that the ride height did not depend on the free length .DUH.

I had considered polyairs or similar to fix the problem but I use the D1 primarilly as a weekend off road toy so don't want to lose any articulation if possible.
That is why I was saying looks like I won't be towing with the D1 again. I guess there is no other way around this, none that I can think of anyway.
