Thread: Disco1 300tdi - cranking but no turn over?

Checked the fuel solenoid cutoff thingy?
if that's been bumped or something while working on the engine, might need to re-terminate it.

Yeah thought of that just unplugged it and gave it a good clean. What do ya mean by re- terminate? Is the anyway of checking the fuel cutoff solinoid? Was going to wait for a mate to come over and jump stArt as it during of power slowly

what do ya mean cranks?? but won't turn over? is the starter fully engageing, if not faulty solinoid, if fully engageing then it's the stop solinoid wireing. check for corrosion at terminal join

mine stopped my disco one night, but the wire had properly worn and fallen out the back of the spade connector so i had to put a new one on.

if the wire is still holding on, but might be frayed or slowly falling out or something so could be worth putting a new spade connector on for good measure

I'm guessing the motor is turning over ( rotating on the starter). Pull the single wire off the rear of the fuel injection pump. Put ignition to on ( red lights) and put the wire you have removed back on. You should hear a click as the solinoid engages. No click no fuel no go. Then its just a matter of finding why there is no power. To check the solinoid you can just run a lead from the battery positive to the solinoid, to see if it clicks, Good luck Baz

All good chaps. Hooked up jumpers from my mates car to mine and she started right away. Must have been crranking it too much in the morning and flattened the battery. Just have to find out why now she dosent kick over straight away.
