So what are people thinking they will replace that big sponge with? I cut my underlay out this morning and there is no way it will be going back in. What other products are out there that won't retain water (just in case the leaks reappear)?

Just got a call from the panel beater saying they have finished the drivers side floor but it was more extensive and expensive than expected, at least it is done though. Gave them the go ahead for the passenger side floor, which didn't look anywhere near as bad, so fingers crossed.
I found that the windscreen of mine was not sealed well so I am assuming water was getting in through there, once I seal it up hopefully no more leaks.
Next will be the alpine window rust but will have to save same cash first.

After my floor was welded up and the grommet above the accelerator pedal was sealed, all seems to be satisfactorily dry. We shall see...
