you considered postage?
Hey Guys,
I am looking at a 2" lift for my D1. I fouind these ones on EBay from the UK. Has anybody tried these? What do you think?
Thanks
you considered postage?
Yeah i am waiting for a price for that. I have had other things come from US, fairly big for only payed about $50 or so, even if it is $100, that would be $500, which seems a pretty good price.
I'd be interested to hear how it goes.
for 200 more you get the suspension stuff gear...
I've just done something very similar, though I was ordering a shed load of other stuff along with it.
The delivery will be more than $100, much more. The 2" lift kit I ordered came from a different supplier, but was 50GBP cheaper, so if you hunt you can get it cheaper than from eBay.
But the shipping charge for the 58kg parcel of parts I ordered that included the shocks and springs (which weighed 40kg by itself) was 250GBP.![]()
Be aware that the springs are lifted by 40mm (not 50mm) but also what the shock length may be standard.. something you may not need if your current shocks are OK and standard length. If your after more flex you need longer shocks as this is what gives you travel, not the springs.
As Klappers mentioned (and plenty of forum users can also back this up) talk to Shane from Suspension Stuff as he knows his 'stuff' and, for a little extra, your buying locally with support etc.
If your only after a lift and no extra flex, then your wasting your money buying the whole kit (unless your shocks are rooted also) and your better off just buying 50mm lifted springs, again Shane should be able to help.

In my case, I've got 2 dead shocks, sagging original springs and little in the way of cash. So I managed to save $240 compared to going to Suspension Stuff.
So the stuff I bought may not be the best quality, but it will give me some breathing space for a couple of years (24 month warranty) so I can save up and get some decent kit.
First thing I thought was its not a 2" lift and yes they do appear to look like standard shocks in the picture...
but if thats all you wanted then it doesn't matter.
If you could have afforded a few other things that you need for the car then I would of gone to craddocks as I bought a complete 2"lift kit which cost me $500 and that was with long travel shocks but I brought other things from them at the same time to make postage worth it like vacuum pump etc.
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
Why get it from the UK when there are plenty of local suppliers that you can walk into and get the parts the same day ?
