As you can see in the pics, the block is a bit of a mess from the leak. Leaking under pressure from this fitting is not good. Just as a point of interest there was a tapered o ring that was initially on the oil thermostat, both my hayes manual and other sources show it just as a plain o ring, which is what I have replaced it with. Both of the o rings on the cooler lines needed replacing as well as these were both shagged. The fitting was a little bit of a pain to get off the block and required the filter to be removed so that I could leaver off the oil filter housing. The real pain with doing this job is definately removing the old gasket material off of the block. This is a real PITA. But, with a little bit of sweat tears and a few swear words, you get there in the end. Just got to pop down to Malz tomorrow to get a new ryco filter and bob's your uncle :)
