    noise location

    an interesting noise has finally plagued me..

    its a noise i can only describe as something between a window up/down engine crank and wind blowing through a window thats slightly ad-jar.

    the noise only happens when going above about 20kms/h and ceases again once below that.. (speed above 20km doesnt seem to make a difference)

    the noise doesnt seem to come from the engine bay and doesnt seem to be associated with gearing

    question is... what else..

    some extra info, spend the weekend 4wd through dunes and beach... but this happened 2 days after...

    Have you had a look at your grommits around the engine bay and under the floor?

    my friend who used to service lr seems to think its the rear bearings, he came for a drive with me today..

    any idea how much i'm looking at spending...

    Never had to do mine so not sure. Hunt around for the best price for your bearings. Also as a long shot check your brake pads.
