V8 coolant temperature sensor - electrical data

Hi All, having issues with my fuel economy (or lack there of) and think the coolant temp sensor might be to blame.

Does anyone know what the electrical resistance should be (hot and cold) of the coolant temp sensor in a 98 Disco V8?

I couldnt find anything on RAVE, but maybe im not looking in the right spot.

    cheers, Steve

    Fuel and Coolant Ohm-meter Reading
    Temperature Should be
    “C “F Ohms

    -10degree -
    14 9100 - 9300

    0 32" 5700 - 5900
    20
    68 2400 - 2600

    40 104
    1100 - 1300

    60 140 500 - 700
    80 176 300 - 400

    100 212 150 - 200

This is for an 88 but AFAIK they are all the same.

Wow - is there anything you dont know??

    Thanks very much Philip!

I know these sensors are cheap enough to replace - but id rather diagnose the root cause and only replace whats necessary.
I dont drive much, so it may take me weeks to get fuel economy figures to check if my changes have worked.

    cheers, Steve
