Thanks for the help guys. All the info I needed
Al-Ko manufactures un-braked trailer hubs with Land Rover 6.5" PCD for axle capacities from 1450Kg through 3000Kg See: AL-KO Website Trailer Hubs (standard and galv. finish)
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I'm also going to fit Disco1 mag wheels to my trailer.
It currently has Disco1 steel wheels on it and I have already fitted 16mm LR studs in place of the imperial ones a few years ago.
I remember reading somewhere that steel wheels locate on the studs but alloy wheels locate on the centre hub hole.
Has anyone machined up a spacer to fill the gap between the hub ring and the inside of the alloy wheel?
Will I be setting myself up for failure if I don't worry about the spacer?
I only want to do this as I have a set of alloys with good tyres and the trailer steelies have shagged tyres. If I have to I will swap the tyres on the rims but at least for the short term it would be nice to just put the alloys on the trailer.
I have had 3spoke RRC mags on my trailer with no problems for a couple of years now and the worst roads in Australia. The old 3 spokes never located on the centre spindle AFAIK, and they use the same nuts as the Disco wheels.I remember reading somewhere that steel wheels locate on the studs but alloy wheels locate on the centre hub hole.

So my opinion is that there will be no problem.
BTW AFAIK the centre hub location is more to do with eliminating sources of NVH than safety.

Thanks. I've fitted up one wheel and all is well except I can't fit the centre cap back on.
I'll fit the other one but I'll have to keep the steel spare due to the way it is mounted on the trailer. Will see how that goes.
