ABS Light On But No Fault Codes Logged

    Hi guys,
I've done the paperclip blink test, got 2 codes out of it ( LHF, RHF Sensor error ) which I suspect were introduced when the springs were changed on her a few weeks ago (hard to tell, globe was blown on dash so no idea how long those codes have been there).

Anyway, I cleared those codes, and now when I do the blink test I just get the long 7.5s pause and the start sequence flash again. So there's no faults logged on the ABS ECU.

But the light is still on. It doesn't do its half second blink, so it's indicating something is not right - but why would there be no codes logged?

Someone suggested it could be the ABS relay under the glovebox - is there a way to test that, or should I just change it?

Any ideas from you ABS gurus is much appreciated :-)

Thanks all - I hope to become an expert one day so I can stop asking and start answering :-)

    Cheers,
    Steve

Does the light stay on or go off after car reaches 5km/h or there abouts?

    Heya Pete,
Sorry, I thought I'd come back to this thread last week when I fixed it, but I note there's no reply from me! I must have dreamed it :-)

I reseated the sensors, cleared the codes, took it for a drive and rechecked the codes. No new codes logged.

But I fixed it anyway - the ABS warning relay was broken. I had a hunch it might be this when everyone else with this model D1 was saying the fault codes could be obtained by simply jumpering pins 5 and 15 on the OBDII connector. I had to do the jumper AND remove the ABS relay - giving me a clue that the relay was the fault.

Swapped it out and the ABS has performed properly ever since.

    Cheers,
    Steve
