Rovacraft have them listed in their Britpart and D1 accessory catalogues: Rovacraft

I believe using them will space your wheels a bit further out.

I also understand they are not legal to use in Oz.

Adaptors or spacers are illegal in all states unless supplied as original equipment. OK if you are going to use an unregistered vehicle on private property.

    D2 wheels to D1

Simmonites sell them in UK, but they are not cheap

Its a shame or ridiculous that wheel spacers are not allowed, loads of people have them here, including me, and they are not dangerous in any way at all, having the wheels out 25/30mm on each side gives the car a much better stance.

one could also do some calculations to find what extra load the added offset puts on the original studs and this is where the authorities are coming from in banning wheel spacers, they blanket consider that all use of wheel spacers adds undue load to the stock wheel studs.
rules are set for the safety of all, regardless of the possibility of one application being strong enough to cope with the extra load.
i for one would not like to meet a vehicle that has just lost a wheel and spacer on the highway.
i have also had two studs break on standard steel wheels, which are only ever tightened by me to the correct torque on my d1, this vehicle does have large tyres which i consider to be the reason, causing the added load on the stock studs.

If you seriously want to go down this road it would probably be easier to buy second hand D2 hubs and fit them. That is of course if they fit but I am pretty sure that they do, you would have to get some documetation from a manual etc to make sure.

I doubt they'd fit. The D2 (and P38A) hubs are of a totally different design. I suspect you'd need to change over the complete axle assemblies (with all the attendant mods that would require). The P38A axles would be no good as the diffs are offset to the opposite side to that of a D1.

It does seem odd that most countries in the world do allow properly engineered wheel spacers but as usual good ole Oz knows better. Sure ban the backyard jobs but not the properly engineered versions that are available.
