be careful going to 3 inches, 2 is usually the limit of lift you can put on a disco before you need to look at things like brake lines and castor angles. Its also over the currently accepted 2 inch (50mm) limit that you can do without requiring engineering. (current limit is a total of a 6 inch lift, 2 from the tyres (which you cant do because you can only legally oversize your tyres about an inch), 2 from the springs and 2 from body lift).

but that said. I get all my stuff and have fitted a few kits that were provided by suspension stuff.

I agree with the other guys. 3 inch will require more mods than 2 inch so consider if 3 inch is necessary for what you are going to do.

I have fitted body lifts to get the extra wheel clearance that 2 inch coils cant give you.

what size tyres are you going to run and what sort of offroading ??

but I can highly recommend Shane at suspension stuff www.suspensionstuff.com.au

good prices and will freight to Vic free of charge I think, check the website

x2. I can highly recommend this lot too. They definitely went out their way to fix up an incorrect item being shipped that would have otherwise made me told them to pick it all up and refund me. Also their flexi springs are very fleible .

What is the view on teh increased angle of the front propshaft when these vehicles(Disco and Defenders) are lifted by 2 inch. Doesn't this cause a lot of vibration and potential some increased noise/wear on from the propshaft?

Welcome, what state are you in?

I can highly recommend Ultimate Suspension in Sydney. They ship around the country as well, top quality at a good price. They've had quite a lot to do with Land Rovers over the years.

Had my lift in now for a couple of years now. No vibration, no more noise. Shaft is still there

thats one of the things thats got the magic point beyond 2 inches of lift... you can usually just chuck an extra 2 inches of springs with suitable shocks and be done with it in both the disco and the deefer from then on its more or less an exponential increase in outlay for every additional inch. That said. if you have a wednesday car you might get away with up to 4 inches and only have to do the brake lines and correct the steering. someone with a monday car might go 3 and have to do the lines, the steering, the bushes, the shafts, the shocky mounts fit different spring retainers, and a few other things as well.

    2 inch lift kit

    Hey all,

I'm new to this forum and proud owner of a D1.

I'm keen on upgrading the wheels\tyres and also after a 2" inch lift.

What are people thoughts on this??
2"50MM Suspension Shock Absorbers Springs Kit Land Rover Discovery 1991-99 | eBay

Appreciate the feedback and would I need anything else? Other parts or so forth?

    Thanks
    Mike
