    Rubber coupling lasts one month?

Around a month anyway. The disco is slightly lifted, less than 2 inches. I might like to use a fair bit of jandal but it's not like the 3.9 is putting out much power.

So, what's wrong? Have I put it on upside down or back to front?

I've done two trips down to harvey and one powerlines trip since replacing it. It's seriously shot.

taint the overall HP youve got its the torque..

how much torque goes through the thing at how much flex angle when your crossing up the tail end and slipping then getting grip, especially if you're in low box low cogs with full noise on?

Yep, the rotoflex is good for absorbing vibrations but if you shock it when offroading it will fail. These loads may be just from slip/grip offroading etc and I would bet that if you're using a bit of sandal that this will be whats doing it.

The fix is to swap it out for a 4 bolt pinion flange (like on the front diff) and a rear uni->uni tailshaft.

Are they genuine or aftermarket? I've had an el-cheapo one go in a quarter the time of the genuine LR one.....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there's a right and wrong way to fit them.
I just fitted mine the same as the previous one, but there are three thick parts with the steel bushes in them, then a thinner part between each of those

Its possible to fit them so that the rubber in the thick part is either under tension, or compression with normal driving torque (not overrun).

Not sure which way is correct, but maybe having it the wrong way could contribute to the premature failure.

Take a look at page two of this PDF. It should help you.

    donut

for what its worth my disco 1 has a rotor flex donut off a late model commodore, it bolted straight up and is a little bit thicker so hopefully will last longer. it only cast $20 from wreckers and looked new
Once i learn to put pics up i hope to do an article on this but i am waiting untill i have a few miles on it to ensure its all safe.

i will attempt to attach file

There is a kit available to replace the donut with a proper UJ, they (the donuts) are not so popular in the UK either, some of the aftermarket ones are not up to the job, need to use genuine if you are sticking with it.
