V8 Knock
OK some gray matter needs to be aplyed here
i have a knock. and im not convinced ( yet )that its a slipped liner
the knock is there at idle and get louder when the motor heats up.
louder when your foot is down
quite again at idle
seems ( to me) to be in time with the valve gear
no water in the sump.
some times a small backfire when moving off idle.
idles fine drives well with no missing etc
it sounds like its coming from around No 3

Put your hand on the plenum top of the manifold. Rev it up. If you can feel the knocking it might be an inlet trumpet loose. That one I have actually experienced! What I did was peened them slightly on an anvil nose and tapped them back in with a bit of loctite.

Strange knocking noises are best identified by a stethoscope
Choices are from a variety of implement's including ... ol long wide blade srewdriver on ear .... Garden hose to ear .. or a bought 1 that looks like it belongs to a doctor
Spending ten minutes concentrating on moving the implement to various points of the motor, can usually track and lead you to the exact area of interest
Cheers
Mike
