V8 dipstick?

I think I need to get together with a few other Disco drivers so I can compare. Rick reckons it sounds about right for my year model.
My Falcons dipstick fits easier but has the wrong end seal, internal not external.

Mine is flat and straight.

Mine is flat but slightly curved. Hard to bend it as it is quite stiff. If yours is round I would think it is the incorrect one. This would also make me question the oil level and whether you have the correct amount in the sump.

according to this webpage your dipstick should look quite similar to this one.
I have a diesel, and I also find it more difficult than with other cars to insert the dipstick back into the tube. A gentle twist usually does the trick though ;)

Yep, that's what mine looks like, though mine has developed a curve to it - it's no longer straight.
