Power Steering Hose replacement ideas D1 V8

    Hi All,

I have a slight weep from the metal hose part of one of my p/steer lines. Looking at it tonight I was wondering has anyone used a brass fitting elbow style into p/steer pump then run hi pressure hose out and along the fronbt up to reservoir?

Surely it would be a workable and much cheaper alternative than getting a replica of original made up?

I'm thiking this way as I don't intend on changing the weep until it breaks as its very minor weep, but if I were on a trip and it was to break I'd love to get away with the ol' bush mechanics solution.

    Any thoughts?

    Cheers,
    Rez

if its the return line it can be done, the return line is technically LP.

if its the HP line you need to be carrying the correct type of compression barb fittings and about 2m of suitable HP hose but yes what you are describing can be done.

the best routing is down from the pump outlet into a loose radius turn through the steering guard supports up in front of the drivers side spring tower into a tight radius u shaped turn back onto the inlet fitting for the powersteering pump.
