well yesterday i had a auto electrician( one that clearly hates LR) out to diagnose the a/c fault,
the guy was chasing wires back and fourth through the dash/into engine bay
2 hrs later he finds a burnt out resistor that runs between ecu and the pressure swich,
i also had him wire my driving lights
total cost $363.00
now i have ice cold ac just in time for summer
Glenn he didn't say what value the resistor is? I think mine's gone too.

no he didnt, he just took a punt...... as he wasnt VERY LR savvy.... been working great since tho.
swing past my place one arvo and I'll meter the resistor and give you an answer.
Thanks... I got it working this arvo - bad connection somewhere near the a/c thermostat (behind the centre vents). I had disconnected most of the relays driver & passenger side and cycled through replacing them using a couple of new ones.
There was no earth getting to the compressor relay (drivers side behind the kick panel) in, we were checking the wiring near the thermostat and it came good. Wiggled all the wires but it wouldn't fault again.
The thing I thought was a resistor (encased in red plastic, on the right side near the fuse panel) wasn't a resistor at all, it's a 1uF capacitor (not labelled, had to measure it with a C meter). Nothing to do with the a/c I think & not in the diagram in the Haynes manual.
So all good for now or until next time I go over a big bump anyway.
anyone had the 30 amp aircon fuse blow after 10 mins driving ?
YES! Mine caught fire and short of taking it to an autoelectrician I still can't work out how to fix it.Quote:

I've had trouble since I bought it earlier this year, it would start up & then after a while just cut out (it was bloody cold but). I took it to 2 different a/c places & they couldn't get it working so de-gassed it, after fitting new canister of course, they seemed to think it was/is the TX.Quote:
