    Opposite Lock D1 SRS Bullbar

    Hi all,
Does anyone have any experience with Opposite Locks airbag compliant D1 bullbar? (picture attached).
Seems good value at around $1200, compared with ARB's at $1865, and will take a 12000lb winch.

They also tell me they will have an Xrox version ready in a few weeks, for people wanting a comp style bar for around $1000 which is also airbag compliant.

I've got one of those but can't say it is any better or worse than any others as it is the only one I've got. It doesn't seem to have any problems with it though.

One with you may want to check before fitting is the size of the holes and bolts used for mounting to the chassis. One thing to check is the bolts supplied with the bullbar and the holes on the bullbar - they might be 10mm dia but the holes in the chassis are 12mm so unless you drill out the holes in the bullbar bracket to 12mm and use 12mm bolts the bullbar will by susceptible to movement.

Thanks for the reply. I was beginning to think no one had ever purchased one of these bars! Thanks also for the info re: the bolt hole sizes. I will mention this to the Opposite Lock guys when I next see them.

I don't suppose you have a couple of photos of your Disco with the bullbar on that you could post up? O/L only have the one photo (the one in the post). Would like to see it from some different angles before i hand over my hard earned

    Cheers

I've just had a look through old trip reports but couldn't find anything detailed in them - I'm either too far away or behind a muddy bow wave. I'll try and remember to get the camera out a take a few pics in the next couple of days.

    Hi guys

Finally bit the bullet and purchased the new bullbar. thought i would post a couple of pics for you.
Bullbar is made by Outback Accessories Australia in WA for Opposite Lock. Is both airbag & winch compatible. rrp was $1250 + fitting. A mate & I fiited the bar in about 15 minutes, and another 1 hour to do the wiring.
All in all, not a bad looking bar, and seems well made.

Winch fairlead hole is behind number plate. Haven't decided on a winch yet. Waiting for next months 4WD Action winch comparo.

    Cheers

    Lookin' good!

Something I found out recently is that the lights on the bar aren't particulary well sealed so it might be worth quickly taking them out and having a go at them with silastic (around the lens and at the back where the wires enter).

This is probably better than going to replace a globe in a couple of years and finding that all of the connectors and reflectors inside the units have rusted to nothing as I found recently.

    Thanks for the tip.
The lights in my bar are LED, so hopefully that will fix the problem.
