Here's some photographs of a quick work lamp install I did a couple of weeks ago for a camping trip....The lamp itself is a little bit too low more my liking but more about that later...Like I said it was a rush job hence no adjustment...









I used some 20mm SHS, fabbed it to suit, couple of coats of paint etc. I removed the studs from the spare wheel holder and welded some 1/4 " 316 stainless bolts to the heads of the carrier bolts...about 90amps with a 2.5mm rod to get a bit of penetration and ground the welds flat again into a hexagon shape. You then attach your light pole this....I didn't like the idea of going underneath the carrier bracket. I drilled a 11mm hole to take the wire in conduit and sikaflexed a stainless clam shell over the top seal the hole to make it weatherproof. The wire then runs up the SHS in conduit to the lamp. Inside the door the wire runs again in LT7mm conduit to the rubber gaiter, thru the gaiter and then on to the switch and ultimately the rear 12volt supply panel. I'll be modifying this shortly as I want to be able control this lamp from the drivers seat using the reverse light circuit, relays and a switch. I'm also going to change the light pole to adjustable 316L stainless one when I come up with a suitable design.
