    Power Steering Hose

Hey guys my 98 Discovery has sprung a leak from the hose which goes from the steering fluid reservoir to the pump... My thoughts were to simply pop down to Super-cheap Auto or the like and buy a length of hose and cut that to the suitable length... Has anyone else done this? Also what is the Diameter of the hose so i know whit one i should be getting... or i might just take the length of hose off and take it in to compare...

Thanks in advance guys! I am in a big panic to get too many things fixed on this things so i can follow through with Christmas plans

    James,

The part number is ANR3133, and I just replaced mine. It does have really quite substantial walls, so I would advise you to get a direct replacement, rather than just a generic hose from Supercheap.

    James,
I concur with Sheerluck, don't forget your essentially dealing with an hydraulic oil circuit, and not all hose is designed to be compatible with oil. I found a mob in Sydney called Karcraft who sold me a replacement for $23

    Thanks guys!

I opted to just cut the end off the hose and re fit it with a new clamp... seems to have worked! And cost me nothing

Now on to fix the other problems hopefully in time!

    You were lucky!
When hoses are replaced with generic ones, You can feel some squeaking noise when forcing the drivewheel. So take this in mind for the future!
