In Brisbane I pay 67.9/l for LPG (which includes the 2c/l discount at bee pee) which at 19l/100km works out to be $12.91 for 100km. Diesel is 149.9/l which if you get 10l/100km works out to be $14.90. I don't mind stopping more times to fill up, I see more and rest more. If you drink water while you are driving you still have to stop every 2 hrs. Think about it next time a V8 goes past.
    An excellent reply
I spoke to a guy who purchased my Maxi Drive last week.
He drove up for southern NSW in his 4.6 powered V8 Disco.
I mentioned how the hell do you afford to drive 1000ks + in a V8, and do it all the way home??
A reply of "I am on gas", and the milage was quite amazing.
So yes good in some ways for sure.
Still love the sound of a V8
My tdi lets out noises that scare my sometimes

Problem is when you do go bush, finding a petrol station can be tricky at times and finding one to have Gas! Well that is pretty much a no show.

If you stop at any station, they are likely to have diesel even if it just to run the generator but its there and if you can get 700-900km between fill ups, that can be the difference between life and eath at times or relaxing and enjoying thetrip or just doing calculations to see if you make the next fuel stop.

Both have pros and cons. My favourite is now a diesel after 8 V8s.

Put a long range tank on or 2 jerry cans and you get 1200+ km's. Sounds good to me.
    Very valid point !!
Not everywhere can you by gas, but most V8 gas conversion still have a petrol tank reserve anyway.
But you need a heap of jerrys if you go bush to feed to beast.
With rego in Queensland l think around $1000 for a V8, Mmmm certainly getting up there!!!

Does that include greenslip? I just paid just over $1000 to rego my 300Tdi in NSW. greenslip was $531 (under 25) tho i checked for over thirties and it was still over $400 at most major insurers.

    Cheers
