Thread: How not to recover a Disco

Yes seen it before, it was a truly not well thought out recovery.

Should have been a simple roll back onto 4 wheels right from the start if they attached the rope further up the chassis and pulled the right way.

Was a mad hill tho...

that little cut down 4WD was pretty useless as well should have left it up to the rangie
i am only a novice at anything like this but IMHO that was definetly the wrong way to pull it

I just had another look at this footage.
You have to admire the rope around the chassis, and stand next to or close by the rope.
Man it would hurt, if it hit you.
Just makes me wonder sometimes when people do 4wd'ing, and really do not have a clue on the safety aspect of a recovery such as this.
I have been involved in assisting a rollover recovery, and common sense prevails, and of course endeavour to recover with as little damage as possible.

seen it b4,, but never noticed wile there pulling it over there still some on in the car

nothing worse than the pointless destruction of what looked like a straight clean disco.. i watched this when i first got my disco and i hated it then. Me with being new to 4x4ing would have done it better.... use common sense people for crying out loud....

Realistically probly should never of gone over in the first place, bit of a dumb way to come backwards down a hill.

Id punch that idiot with the beanie and the mobile phone in the face when I got back on my feet...
