    fuel system shut down

    some help please in mid drive last night my fuel system shut down i checked the fuses and the fuse for the fuel pump had blown i replaced it but when i turn the key there is no power could this be alarm related next question how do i fix it as the remote for the alarm doesn't work so i left it at home forgot to say its a disco 1

    I would suggest that the most likely explanation is that your fuel pump has died.
    When you replaced the fuse and turned on the ign, did you hear the 3 second prime and then the relay click out?

    Can be the alarm, mine did the same thing and the only fix without re-soldering the points on the board was to purchase a plug to completely bypass the alarm. You can search spider alarm, I'll have a quick look and see if I can find the info that helped me a couple of years ago.......

    But AFAIR the spider does not cause this.

    I recall several years ago that when you hit a big bump everything shut down, and you had to turn off , walk around the car and reboot.
    It was called the Microsoft problem.
