A standard V8 4HP22 will not last very long behind that torquey engine, plus in order for the TdV6 to be effective and make use of all that torque an electronically programmable/ controlled trans using frequent TC lockup needs to be utilized. One of the best bits about a D3/RRS TdV6 is the trans matching to the engine. Surely they could have used a 4HP24E??? If not, then it is a failure waiting to happen and not very well matched to that engine IMO. Cable controlled pressure valves in autos went out years ago....
