Hi all,
Just been for a trip out and tried to put the cruise con on for the first time in a while. I tried, to set the speed but it refused to work. Any ideas?
Cheers
Thanks wongdai, got back and stuck the question on here, never thought to check first.
Cheers and sorry For being slack
Haha people on here are funny
My cruise actually has a couple of quirks. If I turn on the switch I can then turn on cruise via the "+" button on the steering wheel. Then I can disengage it via the "-" button on the steering wheel. If I disengage it by any means other than the "-" button such as pressing the brake or clutch, it will not turn back on again until after I have turned the whole car off and then re-started it.
Just my little contribution to a cruise control discussion, whether it's relevant or not
(manual V8)
I typed 'cruise control' in the search box and got this "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms."![]()
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
If you have the Rave cd there is a procedure you can go through to determine the problem.
Mine still works but I have had a few issues with it over the years. Perished vacuum lines at vacuum pump, bellow and T piece behind washer bottle. Readjusted brake vacuum switch a few time. Buggered rhs steering wheel button (no airbag) and the lhs buttton needs a good solid press but still works.
Would be good to replace the buttons but haven't found (or looked very hard) for a suitable microswitch as complete replacements are pricey.
Hi all.
I am a new Disco owner,95 V8 and am needing to find out what these steering wheel buttons are as the owners manual does not say anything about them except that some models have the cruise control switches on the steering wheel. Are they the cruise control buttons and if so what do each of them do.Sorry this isn't relevant to the original post.
Cheers
Shane
Hi Shane,
Looking at that pic (I have the airbag wheel) I believe the left one is the set speed and incremental increases button while the right hand button is the resume and incremental decrease button.
Phil
You can carefuly remove the buttons by using a small scredriver to lever them out. Give them a squirt with crc electrical cleaner, push them back in and they may work better, mine did.
