Thanks for the help and suggestions guys, as always you have proven to be an asset to us all.
Module should arrive tomorrow so I can fit it and get back to normal. (this includes the pipe work planned for Sunday.
While i think on, I removed the drivers door lining and am struggling to reseat it, should I do the exact reverse of removal or should I remove the "plugs" from the door, attach to the liner and then push in?
Cheers and thanks again
Hi all, hope everyone had. Good day.
I was wondering if anyone could point me in h right direction to find my ignition module? New part arriving tomorrow but would like to find the old one so I'm prepared. Hav looked near the coil to no avail, so where would it be?
Car is a 94 built in the march, evidence seems to suggest that all 94's an 95's hav the same module.
Thanks
Phil
It will be on the side of the dizzy. If not there under the coil
That may be why I couldn't get a timing pulse from your plug lead! But maybe its my old light has died. I haven't checked yet.

Thanks Philip,
Found it! Now to figure out how to get at it, bolts appear to be 5mm (smallest spanner I have is 6mm, have sockets but can't get them in) I'm guessing I need to remove the dizzy completely?
Man, land rover don't half like making things difficult!
Yes, you need to remove any plugs that have stayed stuck into the holes in the door.
They can be absolute buggers to get out sometimes.
I use pliers and a flat blade screwdriver.
Use the screwdriver to wedge in behind the tab type of bit that attaches to the door skin, then lever them out bit by bit until you can get the pliers around the threaded bit and pull them out.
Put all the plugs back on the door skin and then just line them up and press them in.
You can get the amp out but its far easier with the dissy out. Remove the cap, mark the position of the rotor arm. Estimate/measure the clearance of the vac advance from the thermostat housing. Undo the dissy clamp from the front, on a serpentine engine you remove the top portion of the rad cowl. On the vee belt engine remove the alternator tensioner arm. Then remove the dissy and mark the spot which the rotor turns to. This is the spot you need to be at to reinstall the dissy. Reverse order for refitting!
Thanks guys, that is sat arvo's job. Fun fun fun!
All fixed, fired up first time and now fires ip much quicker from cold! Thanks for all your help gents!
