I want the day extended to 36 hours so I have time to work on my disco. Got the genuine cap and rotor button today and will get some super trick leads made up on Monday thinking maybe 9mm stainless spiral core. Then maybe we will have some serious spark to have the fuel guzzler fired up again. I'm missing the sound of a thirsty V8. Plus it's costing me more sitting there than it does when I drive it lol

New Lucas dizzy cap new Lucas rotor button, Bee utey's Bosch conversion, new NGK spark plugs (found 1 lead had broken free of plug end) removed dizzy and gave it a good clean up with contact cleaner and reinstalled it, ordered (over the top I know) new top gun 10mm HT leads which should be in Wednesday. Fingers crossed I have it running by lunch time so I can go for a quick run before I goto work.

ITS ALIVE IT ALIVEEEEE. What a journey but thanks to people like Bee utey and the rest of the guys on this forum that take the time to help out the uneducated when it comes to landrovers I have finally gotten my beast running again. After fitting the Bosch conversion kit and still having no luck starting it i then replaced the following, genuine dizzy cap and rotor button, new plugs, topgun 10mm leads (over kill but for me bigger is better) checked timing and bingo it fired up only to stutter and splutter then stall. Jump started it and took it for a small run and it was no different, Then the battery light came on and tacho stopped working. Checked voltage and it was around 11.2 and dropping until the disco stalled. Lucky i had a spare alternator so i changed it over and jump started the disco yet again. PROBLEM solved. It seems i had a mirad of problems that caused its temporary demise. 1 coil and module 2 HT leads 3 alternator 4 non genuine dizzy cap and rotor.
To anyone else in my position learn from those who know and dont skrimp when it comes to parts, cheaper is not always better.
Thanks again to Bee utey and from other posts i read up on Phillip A.
Cheers and see you on the tracks
    Nicho
