    D1 leaking swivel hubs

Is it easy to do? Say similar to doing wheels bearings or is it best left to a mech

    Cheers matt

If you can follow instrutions its fine, you'll need a spring gauge and some normal tools, its time consuming

Better yet, go to work, get the money, fix them yourself, keep the money

Not hard mate, you can just undo the stub/hub at the diff housing (after removing axle and unbolting caliper) then place it upside down on a spare wheel so you can access the seal- coupla hours max.

It can be easy or hard.
if only the seal as above, but it is pretty heavy and make sure that you have enough room beside the car to get the axle out.

I have found over the years that it usually not that simple , in that usually the bearings that the wheel pivots (called pivot bearings) on are worn, and this needs a tear down of the hub. Again not brain surgery but sometimes shims are required to get the correct preload.
This is often the cause of front wheel shimmy.

I'd never touched a swivel hub until I got my disco. But I fully rebuilt both of mine in a day. I have the hub socket you can borrow If you need also have the manual and the rave disk.
