Locker is now set, and ready for installation into car this weekend, along with a carton of beer for good measure.
Will probably put CL one in my Rangie Comp Truck with 37' stickys soon.
IMHO, lf l can save Thousands of dollars, l am giving them a go.
Money is to hard to come by, at the best of times.

+1, seems stupid that U can buy an Locker from the states cheaper than U can get it through ARB here. Of course U run the wrty risk, but if they are such a great product, then the wrty shouldnt be needed.Quote:

If the price changed every time the exchange rate varied people would complain so as a supplier you sometimes have to set a price and stay with it, at least for a period of time.
I work for an Italian company and we set our Australian price for at least a year. If the exchange rate goes against us we wear the loss and the customers say nothing, if the exchange rate changes in our favour the customers all expect us to reduce our price. I guess it's human nature to want to see a price drop passed on immediately and to complain if there is a price rise or we think the supplier is 'making too much".
Nobody is trying to rip anyone off, this sort of price discrepancy happens with many products that are sold globally.
At the moment pricing is better in the US and you will probably not have to pay GST (another 10% saving). Depending on the exchange rate, and also whether the government gets to add GST on all imports in the future, the price from the US will change with time.

Most of these are design piracy, down to the point of "labelling" and exact part numbers.
It's false economy, because they will fail, and I've seen first hand how bad they are.

Have you seen one fail in normal off road use or are you referring to the ARB video on You Tube, Regards Frank.
Did you fit it yourself Dave? If so, how the the Chi-Locker look/feel quality wise?
EDIT: Just watched the video, ARB (axle) Fail @ 6900 Lbs, Chi-Locker fail at 6400Lbs, what sort of torques/forces can U expect whilst off-roading? Surely nothing even close to 6400Lbs??
