Question Parking Lights - strange problem

OK all yhou electrical gurus, here is a strange problem that I hope you can help with.
The parking / tail lights on my '96 v8 auto don't work on the drivers side of the vehicle. Also the dash lights and the lights for the auto gear lever don't work nor do the tail lights in the trailer connection. I checked the fuse but that's OK and in anycase the pasengers side lights are fine.
My thinking is that somewhere there is a connector that supplies only the drivers side and dash/gear lever lights has a dirty connection but where do I start looking.
I have noticed over the past that sometimes the gear lever lights haven't been working properly, i.e the left light is OK but the right light will not illuminate.

    Any suggestions.

A lot of electrical gremlins can be traced back to a bad earth somewhere , i found my some of my dash lights intermitterly working (heater/ clock illumination) and a quick slap with the palm got them on again so that will be an earth/ grounding or connection problem. A whole side not working would have to be wiring related, check all you globes as one out will cause wierd errors.

I have a feeling if you check your fuse panel again that you will find that there is a seperate fuse/circuit for left and right hand rear lights, could be wrong though, if I am someone will correct me, I'm sure and what loanrangie said, crook earths are a pain, Regards Frank.

Yup two exterior light fuses. The right side circuit (fascia panel fuse F8) is also connected to the trailer wiring. Check your trailer plug too.

Thanks Bee utey (and others) for your replies. yes you are correct. There are 2 fuses, one for each side and F8 is the one in question. Just shows that I should have done a search on the forum first and I would have discovered it without having to put the question out. What a fantastic source of help and information we have here on this forum. Thanks again.
I have replaced the fuse and all is back to normal again. That is until I plug in the caravan, and it blows again. Now if only I can find out the problem with the caravan wiring. but that is a whole different story.
    Regards
