I found that one of the biggest contibuting factors that annoyed me with the 4.6 in my RRC auto was the stepper motor constantly keeping the revs up, mine would idle at around 750 to 800 rpm and in low 1st with 33's it would be pretty much impossible to slow it down enough to be comfortable. In one instance when reversing down a slope it was unstoppable and we had to put into neutral for the brakes to stop it, it had that much torque it would just drive through the brakes. A dangerous situation.
We did try the A/C idea, but again the good little stepper motor would just keep those revs up there....:(
