Fuse panel and removed globes in the dash?
Cheers
Mike
I have a '97 D1 with ABS.
The recent wet weather here has demonstrated that the ABS does not work. There are no warning lights showing.
Where do I start to look for faults?
Fuse panel and removed globes in the dash?
Cheers
Mike
I can't really answer your Q's ... Just "heard of" that some find the fuses .. or .. just pull the globes
I've got all the RAVE CD's if you want a lend of ... You still at your old home?
Which reminds me ... Does your brake pedal sorta go funny when you first drive it .... kicks / flutters when pressed for the first time?
Not that I have noticed. Lack of pedal feedback (especially under hard braking) was what initially led me to suspect it may be RS.
The pedal bites lower than the 110 (which also has 4-wheel discs). It also sinks a bit (Very very slowly) if you hold your foot on the pedal. (that is most likely a slow leak betwene the MC and the reservoir though?).
OK - both the 30A ABS fuse and 40A(?) ABS Pump fuse are in place and as they should be.
I cannot recall ever hearing the ABS pump. Should it make noises when I start the car?
Where is the warning light, and how easy is it to get at?
(mike - will be away for a few days, but will contact you when I get back about the rave CD).
bulb is easy to get to. Remove the instrument binnacle (2 screws below the instrument panel), and unclip from the top.
2 screws either side of the instrument panel and the whole unit lifts out.
Look for the bulb behind where the ABS screen is.

Ben, that ABS lamp should be on when you turn on the key, obviously some pondlife has removed the globe to sell the vehicle
If you want to ring me I can help out a bit with diagnosis etc.
