Hi Aulroers, I need to replace the electric fans in my 97 Di, where do I start, and what can I replace them with that is not going to break the bank. Thanks

Get some second handies from TRS in Adelaide, or MR, or British OffRoad, or anywhere. Don't buy new - they ought to last nearly forever or until they fill with mud!
Replacement is simple - just pull the grill, examine the replacement sequence and do it. Before you start the pull out, hot wire the fans to see if they're U/S. It could be a relay fault that is "preventing their progress".

Agree with hotwire, but I just replaced my dead ones with Supercheap ones and so far so good including dunkings to Cape York.

As Pierre says, it's really not that difficult to get them out. The grille can be a pain, especially if you have a bullbar in front, but once that's off, it's 4 fastners and a wire to undo for each fan, and out they come.
I found a S/H one for $15 last year to replace one of mine that had died.

Thanks all, you have given me the information I was hoping for, so a call to the wreckers or/and supercheap.
