    indicators on with a BUMP

    Hey all,

Thought I'd share somethings strange and interesting thst hppened to me over the weekend whilst doing some off roading.

Driving along some fire trails etc, whenever I hit a big bump the indicators would come on as if the hazzards were on.

Presssing the Hazzards button on and off made no difference.
Turning the car off still made no difference...

Only when I turned the ignition back on did they stop flashing, until the bext reasable bump was felt.

Anyone have any ideas as to whats going on here?
I'm assuming it might be a loose conneciton of sorts, but not sure as turngn the ignition off/on wouldnt fix a loose connection.

    Clean out flooded interior

whilst having a play off road on the weekend I bit off more than I can chew and found myself bogged to the axles with muddy water half way up my doors (dont ask!!).

Unfortunatley the door seals arent the best and so Ive ended up with some very dirty water coming in, the end result being some muddy/stinky carpet and a layer of sludge through the bottom of the car.

whats peoples advice in terms of cleanign this out?
I'm planning on rullign out all the seats and carpet, cleaning them and the pan then putting it all back together.

    Anyone got any other ideas?

My '98 Disco SE does this occasionally on severe corrugations, luckily, it hasn't triggered the airbag yet - Like you have discovered, pull over, turn car off, re-start and carry on as if nothing has happened

The same thing happened to me, came around a corner and hit a whole then couldn't turn the rotten hazzard lights off even after turning the ignition off. I had to disconnect the battery for a while to reset whatever it was, but it hasn't happen sense

It's all built in in case of accidents. Have a bump that's not big enough to set off the airbags and the hazard lights come on. My 300 Series Disco used to do this as well. Also I think the doors are supposed to unlock if locked.

had that happen on my D1 driving over corrugations, pulled up with hazards flashing, remember a Toyo pulling up asking If I needed help.
EMBARRASSING! seems you can drive over corrugation at any speed . Used to pee me off.
