Thread: ARM 1280 multi function unit, 95 disco.

Hi Does anyone know what this gizmo does and how it does it. Can one of the circuits be bypassed if they fail, can all the circuits be bypassed. Can I do away with it.

Multi–Function Unit (MFU)
The multi–function unit (MFU) is mounted on the
rear of the passenger compartment fuse-box and
has an input to operation of the following:
Heated rear screen
Courtesy lights
Side and headlights
Rear fog guard lamps
Headlamp power wash
Front wipers
Rear wash/wipe

I suppose you could do away with it if you intended never driving on public roads, after dark, or in the rain.

You should be able to pick one up off ebay for under $50.
