Alternator belt getting chewed up - PAS pump?

    Hi all,
The alternator belt is getting chewed up on my 300Tdi Disco. From inspection, it appears as if the pulley on the PAS pump is slightly out of line. I've had a look for parts but can only find entire pumps. Does anyone know of a replacement bearing or pulley assembly for the pump?
    Thanks.

A suggestion: take the serpentine belt off and wiggle all the pulleys - the power steering pump can wear it's bearing without leaking for a short time before failure. Generally, the pump is easier to replace rather than rebuild ( in Aust anyway). Otherwise, apart from loose bolts on the pulley and assembly that holds the pump and alternator, the tensioner assembly can become worn and be off center as well.

From my experiance if the pulley is foward on the power steering pump Id say it is about to sh*t it self big time like mine did.
Once that was replaced the water pump went (new one fitted).
Then the belt tensioner had to be replace (new one fitted).
Just to sh*t me more the stud on the tensioner pulled out of the block!!!! while my wife was driving.

All this happened with in 6 months and each time a new belt had to go on because the old one was shreaded each time something went wrong.

So there is a few things to look at.

Yes, get a new pump asap before you are stranded, the shaft walks out forward and chews the belt.

You guys out there who experienced this walking forward of the PAS pulley:
Was it loose when wiggled? Mine's walked out but when shaken it doesn't budge?
I got a new pump anyway and I'll fit it up tomorrow - no other pulley feels loose at all.
