    alternator upgrade

    now i have read a lot of posts and left confused,is there a direct replacement alternator to bolt into a disco 1 3.5 to replace the 65A lucas and get a few more amps,any help wont be appreciated

    My mate with a '87 RRC put a new Bosch 130amp unversal alternator on his car last week, the autoleccy supplied a dual pulley so the belt lines up. He made a simple spacer to fill the gap in the bracket. The new alternator has 3 terminals like the original, the 'W' terminal runs the tacho. Does your 3.5 run a vee belt or polyrib pulley?
