I have a Milford Cargo barrier and they are not really "fixed" in place, you can move it around quite a lot, up and down and side to side when installed so I would be careful about attaching something like this to it.Quote:

The height of the fridge is the limiting factor as it hits the seats. The gap behind the seats is good for many things.Quote:

Mine is actually a half barrier. How much would be lost with a full length barrier would depend on if it went straight down or curved backwards to match the back of the seats.
If your fridge had an outside power unit on one end like some do, a half-barrier could make it easier to fit it at the back next to the seat, I think, as long as there was still enough cooling air flow.

When it came time to fit out the back of the Disco for a our big trip late last year, I was a bit concerned about not having the full length cargo barrier right to the floor. Reason being if we were in an accident, then whatever is in the back of the car, fridge, heavy tool bag etc, would fly into the back seat where our three boys are sitting. I did not have too much confidence in the strength of the seatback and the locating tangs.
So, even though our 60L Waeco could fit lengthwise with a piece cutout of the cargo barrier, we decided to mount our Waeco on a sideways slide and lose a bit of space but have more confidence in the strength of the cargo barrier if the unthinkable happened. To maximise the remaining space, I built a plywood frame surrounding the fridge and slide so we could stack food boxes on top and tools, games, toys, helmets etc that inevitably form part of the "gear" to take away with 3 boys. The roof rack and camper trailer ended up with a few extra bits and pieces that we could have fitted in the back if the fridge was lengthwise rather than sideways.

Hit 'reply to post', find the attachment symbol and hit it, hit browse and find the pic on your computer and click it, hit upload and wait until it uploads. You will then see something about your pic. Hit that and open it. Copy the address line and paste it into the 'post reply' box and you should get a thumbnail.
My half barrier has bolts at both ends holding it into place so its quite firm.Quote:
