Have you ever heard of a Landy owner getting back what they put in?:)Quote:
you will probably not get back what you put into the car (i.e. money wise)
It's like a boat, it's a hole in the ocean into which you pour money.
The bloke I bought it off bought new bolts for the last head so they should be fine, they look new enough too.Quote:
Hint: If you can afford it, buy yourself a new set of head bolts - the manual says they are good for 5 uses, and I think this could be #5.
He said he did the timing belt too but I'm gonna check up on it just in case.Quote:
Hint: Think about treating yourself a new timing belt (At least inspect it whilst you have the coolant drained.&/or rad removed). Search (Both here and web) 300 tdi timing belt and you'll find heaps.
His last rebuild with the new head, bolts, and belt was only 6 months ago so anything he replaced is kinda shiny.:D
So glad to hear that.:) I've just got another one (Thanks to Discovery-94) as mine is cactus, which I'll have looked at and rodded if needed. Actually it's quite funny 'cause every time I talk to the previous owner he comes a little cleaner each time. Just little hints like "Definitely get another radiator mate, I've done some nasty stuff to that one to keep her going." So I take the radiator down and get a quote of $450 to fix it. It's like a trip in a landy every time we speak, I don't know what will drop next.:oQuote:
PS: The standard radiator ( if clean) has sufficient cooling for most activities and locations.
Thanks,
Lane
